A well-designed garden is an investment that will add value to your property. However, more importantly, being outdoors in beautiful surroundings is proven to be beneficial for our mental health and physical well-being.
Designing a garden from scratch, or re-designing an existing garden, can seem like a daunting task. It is my role as a professional garden designer to inspire you with my creativity, use my expertise in planning, draw from my extensive knowledge of plants, and assess what will actually work in your garden. In short, to help you achieve the best possible outcomes for your specific outdoor space.
Do you want to use your garden for cooking, dining, entertaining, playing, exercising, gardening, growing fruit and vegetables, or simply to relax and enjoy nature? Good design will offer you a space that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also practical and functional.
My garden design service includes the site survey, design and planting plans. All of the information from the consultation and the site survey is used to create a concept plan, which is a 2D drawing of my vision for the garden. This includes lighting if required and all garden features, highlighting focal points.
I use sustainable materials wherever possible. To attract wildlife into your garden, I try to incorporate water features and plants for pollinators and other wildlife in the planting plans.
If required, I produce a detailed working plan for contractors to follow in constructing the hard landscaping elements of the garden.
From this point, you may decide to undertake construction of the garden yourself or hire contractors to carry out the work. I can recommend trusted and reasonably priced contractors, however I suggest that you obtain several quotations for comparison. I can oversee and monitor the progress of the work, ensuring that the plans are adhered to accurately.
When it comes to planting up the garden, the planting plans contain detailed information about the plants, positioning and spacing. Again, you may choose to do this yourself, or you may prefer my assistance. I can undertake the work for you - researching and sourcing the plants, preparing the beds/borders and planting up.
If you would like to arrange a consultation or have any questions, please use the contact form and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
